10th Chinese Peptide Symposium   10th Chinese Peptide Symposium was held in Tsinghua University and Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, China between July 1 - 5, 2008

This year's conference drew attendance from leading incident and vulnerability handling professionals from all over the world. Participants representing industry, government policy makers, as well as academic scholars and researchers from the peptide science arena were also present and discussed the latest topics in peptide science and peptide medicine.

This four-day conference provided an excellent opportunity for scientists and researchers to meet with participants from all over the world, share the view of peptides, and create an opportunity for networking, collaboration, sharing of technical information and the building of trust relationships internationally.

11th Naples Workshop On Bioactive Peptides   11th Naples workshop on bioactive peptides was held in Napoli (Italy) at the Centro Congressi Federico II on on May24-27,2008.

The Workshop that was designed to provide updated information and to critically discuss current trends on synthetic and conformational aspects of bioactive peptides, dealt in the eleventh edition with the general topic: "New frontiers in the search of bioactive molecules: from peptides to drugs".

The Workshop was held under the auspicies of the American Peptide Society, the European Peptide Society, and Regione Campania - Assessorato all' Università e Ricerca Scientifica.

5th Bulgarian Peptide Symposium   The Fifth Bulgarian Peptide Symposium took place in Rila mountain resort Bachinovo from 20 April to 30 April 2008. Bachinovo University Campus is situated of about 3 km. from Blagoevgrad at the foot of the Rila Mountain.

During the symposium, scientific and applied investigations in the field of synthesis, isolation, modification, and structure analyze and biological activity of amino acids, peptides and protein were discussed.

Natural Peptides To Drugs (3rd International Congress)   3rd International congress on Natural Peptides to Drugs was held in Zermatt,Switzerland between 14-17 April 2008. NP2D focussed on cutting-edge aspects of peptide science, from discovery to market. The recent developments related to discovery programs, molecular characterisation, target receptor identification, peptide-receptor mapping, molecular pharmacology, structure-function studies and protein engineering were addressed by specialists with worldwide recognition.

The event emphasized on aspects related to biodiversity, drug targeting, formulation and innovative drug delivery systems. It included topics with design and optimization of lead compounds to pre-clinical and clinical development, large-scale production of synthetic or recombinant peptides

The programme consisted of lectures, oral presentations, business and scientific sessions, a ‘round-table’ on ‘Funding Peptide R&D’,networking opportunities .

20th Jubilee Of The American Peptide Symposium   The 20th jubilee of the American Peptide Symposium, "Peptides for Youth" was held in Montreal, Canada from June 26 to 30, 2007.

The symposium served to remember the accomplishments of society members since Professors Saul Lande and Boris Weinstein organized the First American Peptide Symposium at Yale University in 1968. Moreover, "Peptides for Youth” strived to attract Young Investigators to participate in a meeting that recognized and highlighted their achievements, and incited their interests with a stimulating scientific program, featured in a vibrant city, Montreal

First Indian Peptide Symposium   First Indian Peptide Symposium was held in Agriculture University Campus, Hyderabad from 22nd - 23rd February 2007 organized by Ventura Business Solutions Private Limited under the auspices of Indian Peptide Society.

The Symposium included keynote lectures by invited speakers, short oral presentations and poster sessions on all aspects of current peptide science. Apart from the invited speakers, there was a brief session for oral presentation of voluntary research papers by doctoral students on their research work on 22nd February 2007. In addition to this, poster sessions were conducted to enable Researchers and Technologists to present their work related to Peptide and Allied areas. The Symposium focused its deliberations on Chemistry-structure determination of peptides, novel endogenous peptides, combinatorial chemistry, peptide-protein interactions, structure- activity relationships, molecular modeling of peptides, peptides in genomics, peptide drug discovery and analytical techniques in peptide research. The event discussed current trends in peptide science including therapeutics and diagnostic, and provides for first time in India a platform to interact on various aspects related to peptide science and technology development. The Symposium encouraged young talent to participate and share their achievements to scale new heights in Peptide Research and Development.
